Buying a RIPPA? Plan Trailer Capacity, Pickup and Delivery First

A machine purchase should include a realistic way to get it home and move it later. Before buying a RIPPA excavator or mini skid steer, ask Ironcrest for the exact machine’s transport dimensions and weight, including the attachments you plan to carry.
Trailer size is only part of the answer
A trailer can look large enough while lacking the payload for the load. Check the trailer’s rated capacity, its empty weight, ramp ratings and the complete load you will carry. Include attachments, tools and anything else on the trailer.
Check the tow vehicle, hitch and related ratings as a complete combination. Loading and securement must follow the equipment instructions and applicable requirements. A “regular trailer” is not a useful approval category.
Compare transport before moving up a model
An excavator that solves a larger job may also change the trailer and tow vehicle you need. Include that cost when comparing R10, R15, R18, R22 and R32 configurations. Mini skid steer buyers should do the same for the RS04 or RS06 PRO and their attachment package.
Ask for the actual unit information rather than relying on a general online specification. Cab equipment, production versions and attachments can change the loaded total and height.
Choose pickup or delivery for the initial handoff
