Temporary access for erosion-control work

BamaMats can support erosion-control and site-restoration work by creating a defined temporary route for crews, tracked equipment and service vehicles. By spreading equipment loads and reducing repeated tire or track contact with exposed soil, they can help limit rutting, soil displacement, vegetation damage and the tracking of mud from disturbed areas.

Common applications include access to drainage improvements, retention areas, slopes, utility work, streambank or shoreline projects, newly seeded ground and sites using erosion-control blankets or other stabilization measures. They can also provide a temporary work surface for inspection, maintenance and material movement where unnecessary soil disturbance needs to be minimized.

Use BamaMats as part of the site plan—not as a substitute for required erosion controls. They do not replace silt fence, wattles, sediment basins, erosion-control blankets, geotextiles, stabilized construction entrances or engineered stormwater measures. Water can flow under or around a mat, and poor placement can redirect runoff or create channeling. Install them on a prepared route, follow the project SWPPP or erosion-control plan, use connectors where conditions require them, and inspect the route after heavy traffic or rain.

Mat performance depends on ground conditions, equipment configuration, load concentration, travel speed, turning and correct installation. For concentrated loads and equipment above 50 tons, appropriate outriggers, cribbing or load-distribution practices are recommended.

Warranty support from Alabama

The 2-year limited warranty applies to qualifying defects under normal intended use for the original purchaser. Proof of purchase and photo or video documentation are required. Rental use, abuse, misuse, improper installation, altered mats, unsuitable ground conditions, excessive or concentrated loads and ordinary wear are excluded. Full written warranty terms control.
